yep, the big expense was the zombie mask which cost about $20, the rest was just buying ketchup, water balloons, some cheap fake blood ingredients and a few $1 t-shirts to wreck from the thrift store!

And you obviously didn't take the cost of fuel into consideration, or vehicle maintenance. I know every time I have to flee a Zombie scene I floor it thus increasing maximum damage to any zombies in the way . . . . but also increasing gas consumption . . . .

I find you're $35 budget very unjust!

Genuine story telling, mixed with action sports, this is truly an art form and the way forward. The video world is full of slow mo dirt spraying cornering shots, blurred out shallow depth of field bark to rider shots. It is so refreshing to see someone branch off and integrate a story into some riding action. Well done guys, huge props. As a film maker myself it is hard to want to go the extra mile without being paid for your efforts, but you have excelled.

it was just someone lying on the ground, the guts he was "eating" were just nylons or something stuff with cotton or something and then slathered in fake blood.

We wanted to make it as believable as possible. If I were escaping zombies the last thing I would do is ride around on a large, slow heavy bike taking unnecessary risks. I think an all mtn bike is the appropriate escape. Light, fast, pedal-able and also very capable on the descents. Remeber, when zombies are coming for you, you're gonna want to be able to pedal.

Great flick. Very true on the bike choice - but it would have been cool to go through an urban scene, escaping the zombies - because the roads were all blocked with a million of them. I'm picturing that amazing trials/freeride guy (can't think of his name) escaping them in the city doing all kinds of great stuff trying to get away from them, only to make it out to a trail that goes right into a pile of on coming zombies, when all of a sudden, he does a front flip over their rotting heads and lands behind them on the trail taking off in style! Maybe next years movie!

Cant wait for him to get back on the bike properly and start banging out the edits - spanish hill was porbably my favourite ever as it was just crazy techy stuff suited to trials or dh rigs depending on the section done on essentially a normal ish 150mm trail bike - kinda thing most of us ride these days i.e. chain device etc truly awesome stuff
